Why Make Pies in Spain?
We make British-style pies because we love them. And we live in Spain where you simply cannot get a pork pie of any description. So we decided to make our own, and we gave the spare ones to our friends, who also fell in love with them.
And we thought, this is too good to keep to ourselves, we'll make lots of pies and sell them, because we are very generous people.
What about the Scotch egg?
We love those, too, so we learned the art of Scotch egg making and now we want to share our Scotch eggs with you. But don't expect a haggis any time soon.
Isn't British food supposed to be rubbish?
It can be, especially at the lower end of the price scale, and if it's made by machines in a factory. But we make everything by hand, so we control exactly what goes into our products.
Why are your pies square?
Because Piethagoras, our mentor, said "pies are square". Actually, he said "∏r2", but we heard him wrong.
